A former coaching stop, Tushielaw Inn was originally built as a drover’s halt and toll house.
A relaxing drive though the beautiful border hills takes you to Selkirk or Hawick, with the Scottish capital city of Edinburgh only an hour away. Historic houses, such as Traquair, Bowhill, Abbotsford and Floors Castle are all within easy reach. T You have the Southern Upland way, the beautiful old bridle path to St Mary’s Loch and many more nearby. Excellent Trout fishing is available on the River Etterick forwild brown trout, still water trout fishing is offered free to residents on the Inn’s private Loch. Salmon fishing can also be arranged (please contact us for details). The local area also supports many other field sports.The local countryside supports a wealth of wildlife species such as otters, hare, Roe deer and, many bird species such as Oystercatchers, Goosander, Dippers and many more to interest the experienced and novice nature lover.
